The 3-Day Expedition is crafted for the true adventurer. By dedicating three full days to the rainforest, we hike far beyond the areas reachable on shorter treks. This means exploring pristine primary forest, dramatically increasing your chances of spotting wild orangutans, hornbills, and even tracing the tracks of larger elusive mammals.
You will experience the thrill of breaking camp and moving to a completely new location on the second day. Sleep in two distinctly different riverside environments, learn jungle survival skills from your guide, and fully synchronize your body and mind with the rhythm of the rainforest before your exciting tube-rafting journey home.

Your 3-Day Trekking Timeline
Briefing & Entering the Park
Gather at our base in Bukit Lawang. After a safety and wildlife protocol briefing from your guide, we cross the river and enter the Gunung Leuser National Park boundaries.
Primate Spotting & First Camp
Trek through the transitional forest zones looking for wild Orangutans, Thomas Leaf Monkeys, and Macaques. Enjoy an organic jungle lunch before hiking down to your first riverside campsite.
Deep Jungle Expedition
After breakfast, we leave the first camp. Today is a physically demanding trek deeper into primary forest. The terrain is steeper, but the isolation provides chances to spot rare hornbills, gibbons, and learn about medicinal plants.
Second Campsite & Campfire
Arrive at a completely new campsite further upriver. Bathe in fresh streams, relax your muscles, and enjoy another incredible multi-course Indonesian dinner prepared over the open fire by our porters.
Waterfall Visit & Jungle Morning
Wake up to jungle sounds. After a pancake breakfast, take a shorter, relaxed walk to discover a hidden jungle waterfall (weather and route depending), swim in the pool, and observe morning wildlife.
Lunch & Tube Rafting Return
Have your final jungle lunch. Pack your bags into waterproof sacks, board the traditional linked inner-tubes, and enjoy a thrilling 45-minute white-water float down the Bohorok River back to civilization!
